Training covers the gym floor, the class, the home mat and the hybrid race. The footwear question is mostly about the base: flat and stable for lifting, flexible for classes, cushioned for the rower-to-run session. We also carry the kit around it — apparel, bags, bands, bottles — from the brands that make it properly.
BaseLifting wants a flat, firm platform. Classes want flexibility and grip. Hybrid sessions want both.
Lateral supportSide-to-side movement is where a running shoe gives up. Training shoes hold the foot.
DropLow or zero drop for strength work; a little more for conditioning sessions.
DurabilityRope climbs, burpees and sled pushes wear uppers and outsoles in specific places.
BreathabilityA 45-minute class in June in Jaipur is a different session from one in January.
ApparelFit and fabric matter as much as the shoe when the session is long and the room is hot.
